The Journey That Led Us Here

What's the Vision?

After 25 years of enterprise technology leadership—from IBM's multi-billion dollar Strategic Outsourcing division to specialized healthcare IT, I saw the same pattern repeatedly: organizations struggling not with technology itself, but with finding their way through digital transformation. They had ideas but lacked the compass to navigate efficiently.

Why Vegvisir?

Vegvisir is an ancient Norse compass that helped travelers find their way through rough weather and uncharted territories. This perfectly captures what I've spent my career doing: helping organizations navigate technological storms to reach their destinations safely and successfully.

These days with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Large Language Models (LLMs)...modern businesses face uncharted digital territories filled with opportunities and hidden dangers. Success depends on having an experienced guide who knows how to chart the course.

The Private Equity Perspective

Working within PE portfolio companies taught me to think like an investor while acting as an operator. Every technology decision must contribute to enterprise value creation. This dual perspective—seeing technology as both a cost center and a value driver—has become a key differentiator for me.

A Foundation of Experience

My career journey began at UPS - providing business specs, application development, deployment, and support in the Industrial Engineering group. I spent a good part of my twenties traveling the world and learning how to leverage technology to make processes more efficient.

This was followed by strategic P&L leadership at IBM working with clients from MetLife to the NBA - driving cutting edge (at the time) innovation such as the first cloud offerings and virtual/cloud environments.

Then, at Financial Partners Inc., I modernized product areas and led my first company turn-around,  driving re-invention to this 180 person banking-support company. Completely cleaning up the balance sheet and removing wasteful spending while modernizing technology.

The transition to healthcare technology at Numotion marked a turning point. Working with complex rehabilitation taught me that technology isn't just about efficiency—it's about improving human lives. There, my team and I built an innovative order processing system shortening the cycle time for getting people the

equipment they needed to make their life better.

This "human" perspective deepened at United Urology Group and Specialty Dental Brands, where I learned to drive patient value by focusing on consolidating EMRs/PMSs. Patients were given a better experience with more modern systems. The doctors, staff and PE owners derived value from better processes, less cost, and better clarity through analytics. All balanced with patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Sample results: $400M revenue increase doubling a company via software that my team and I developed. Three successful mid-sized company turnarounds. $15 million in documented cost savings and EBITDA improvements. Successful navigation of two private equity exits with double digit multiples. Over 100 add-ons and integrations. True clinical data success and measurable improvements in patient care quality.

Independent Practice

I founded Vegvisir Advisors because many organizations need executive-level technology guidance without a full-time executive. Companies approached me about expertise their teams lack, or seeking an independent voice free from internal politics. Independent practice allows me to focus solely on your success without corporate constraints.

Our Commitment

Technology should multiply your organization's capabilities, not create obstacles. We transform technology from a cost center into a competitive advantage by understanding your destination—not just where you want your technology to go, but where you want your business to go.

Your success is our true north.
